Hanging a Gallery Wall Without Nails
Nine frames means eighteen holes, or none at all. Here is the sequence that gets you the second outcome.

Plan it on paper, hang the anchor first, work outward, and give the adhesive an hour before any frame goes back up. A gallery wall is the best possible use of adhesive strips: nine frames is eighteen nail holes otherwise, and the frames are usually light enough to be well inside the ratings.
The two failures are always the same — not pressing the wall-side strips directly, and re-hanging inside the curing hour.

First, check the wall and the frames
The wall. Smooth, fully cured paint only. Textured, papered or recently painted walls defeat every adhesive strip on the market — use a ledge or a rail instead.
The frames. Weigh a representative one. Gallery frames are usually 11x14 or smaller with acrylic glazing, which lands comfortably inside the ratings below. Glass at the same size roughly doubles it.

Plan it on paper before anything is exposed
This step matters more with adhesive than with nails, because adhesive does not forgive a second attempt. A nail hole can be moved an inch; a used strip cannot.
- Lay the arrangement out on the floor. Photograph it.
- Cut a paper rectangle to each frame’s outer size.
- Tape them to the wall at your chosen gap — 2 to 3 inches, identical throughout.
- Leave it an hour. Look at it from where you sit.
- Mark the top two corners of each rectangle in pencil, then take the paper down.

The hanging sequence
- Clean each spot with isopropyl alcohol. Not a household spray cleaner — they leave a film the adhesive cannot bond through. This is the most-skipped step and the most common cause of failure.
- Snap the strip pairs together, black side to black side.
- Peel the frame-side liner, press onto the frame back, hold 30 seconds each.
- Peel the wall-side liners, position the frame on the marks, press the whole frame for 30 seconds.
- Take the frame straight back off, leaving the wall-side strips on the wall. Press each one directly for 30 seconds.
- Wait one hour. Do the next frame meanwhile.
- Re-hang each frame after its hour is up.
