Commission does not decide recommendations

Hang & Hue earns affiliate commission when you buy through our links. That commission plays no part in what we recommend or the order picks appear in. Picks are ordered by the specification that decides the purchase — the method is published in full — and where two products are equivalent on that spec, the cheaper one goes first.

The practical test of that claim is whether we ever tell you to buy less. We do, regularly: at standard frame sizes the inexpensive frame and the expensive one differ in glazing, mat quality and molding depth and in nothing else visible from three feet away, and we say so.

Comparisons carry a buy path for both options

A comparison that monetizes only one side is not a comparison, it is an advertisement. Every “X versus Y” page on this site gives you a way to buy either one, including when the one we recommend pays us less.

Things we will not publish

• Reviews or testimonials we did not receive. There are no customer quotes anywhere on this site. We have none, so we publish none.
• Star ratings or aggregate scores. We do not run a test lab, so a score from us would be an opinion dressed as a measurement.
• First-hand experience we do not have. No “in our testing”, no “we have used this for months”.
• Prices in article text. They go stale and then they mislead.
• Invented credentials. The author biography on the about page contains exactly what is true and nothing else.
• Urgency and scarcity language. No countdowns, no “lowest price”, no “today only”. We have no deal data, so any urgency we manufactured would be fiction.

Sponsorship and gifted products

We accept no sponsored placements, no paid inclusion in a roundup, and no gifted products in exchange for coverage. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on the page in question and in this policy, not buried in a footer.

Sourcing standard

Every number we publish — rated weight capacity, hanging height, mat border, frame dimension — traces to a manufacturer’s own specification or a published standard, linked at the foot of the page it appears on. We do not cite other publishers for a figure. Where a convention has no single authority behind it (frame spacing, sizing ratios), we say so and name where the convention is published.

Corrections

Errors get fixed, not quietly deleted. When a page changes materially, its last-updated date changes with it. We do not refresh dates on pages that have not actually changed — a date that moves without the content moving is a lie told to a search engine.

On how this is written

We use software in the production of this site, as most publishers now do. What we do not do is let it invent experience, numbers or people. Every specification is checked against the manufacturer’s published figure before it is published, and no anecdote appears on this site because we have no anecdotes to tell.
